The Last Girl - Review

Six years ago strangers broke into Juliette’s house; she was home alone and only thirteen. She kept her eyes closed, praying that if she didn’t see anything, she wouldn’t be killed. No one harmed her. In fact, one of the thieves protected her. Now Juliette’s dreams are haunted by him. Christian has waited to take her, resisting the urge each night. It always ends badly with human pets. They’re too fragile. The longer he can wait, the better, because the moment he takes her, the clock on her life starts ticking down. Then she’ll be gone forever.
Warning: This book is dark erotica meant for a mature audience only.

You know you've read a Kitty Thomas book when you're left a little stirred up, feeling better about your own brand of kink and with a head full of fuckedupness! She's good like that, gets right into your brain, in the part you keep all locked up for fear the normal folk will discover your weirdness for the special sexy time she writes about and she draws it all out. One perverse sentence at a time.

I loved The Last Girl. Christian was this side of twisted and sadistic and a little crazy. And a vampire! Oh yes. FINALLY a vampire story written from my favourite dark erotic author. His arrogance oozes from the page until you think you can't like this character. You just can't! But hell if I did. There is an old charm about him, I found him amusing at times and I could definitely see the attraction Juliette felt towards him, even when she was utterly paralyzed with fear for the vampire too.

The Last GirlI don't usually enjoy first tense stories, I find my brain wanders too much or tries to translate it to third tense. But for this book it works well, it puts you right in the moment with Juliette from the first time she encounters him when him and his vampire buddies break into her house and she knows she's going to die, her dibilitating fear leeches out until you're holding your breath with her. I loved that.

Most of The Last Girl is told from Juliette's POV, I would have liked more of Christian's sick mind too, but that's just me as a reader and fan of the author being greedy.

Favourite Quotes:

"He knows I locked the door to keep him out. I’m prey, hiding, hoping the predator with thebig, sharp teeth doesn’t smell me."
“You waited for six years to take me. You watched me and listened to my thoughts. Why would you harbor such a fixation only to kill me in less than a day?”
He is both the disease and the cure.

Another brilliant story from an author I will and do always recommend to my more open minded reader friends. And to some of the vanilla's that need some hardcore delicious sexy time on their reading shelves. (heh

I give The Last Girl by Kitty Thomas 4 sparkles out of 5! Fangtastic!

The King's Pleasure - Review

In the kingdom of Himeros, Abigail is despised for her gypsy heritage. Pushed to the fringes of society, she’s forced to break the law in order to help feed her family. When a castle guard catches her stealing bread, he intends to cut off her hand for the offence. Niall has just taken the throne and is determined to prove he isn’t a monster like his father. Awakened by the cries of a gypsy, he spares her from the guard’s blade and takes her as his slave instead. When he learns she doesn’t understand the kingdom’s carnal ways, he becomes determined to strip her of all inhibitions until her every desire is in service to the king’s pleasure.

The King's Pleasure
Gorgeous Cover Art
With any Kitty Thomas book, she takes you places not many other authors do. The third book in her erotic fairytale collection 'The King's Pleasure' is no exception. It has an 'olden day' feel to the story, despite the Kingdom having modern conveniences such as electricity and showers, I kind of liked that aspect, it made the whole slave and King relationship more plausible for me.

This book plays heavily on non consensual Master and Slave acts, and as I say with all Kitty stories, they're not for everyone, the more vanilla reader may not like the bondage or sharing the sexual wealth, as Niall does with Abigail, But I enjoy the brand of kink she writes about. It's hot in a forbidden kind of way, exploring a female's inner wants before she even know she wants them!

Except for the dog. Lawd. No, I didn't like that part. I thought Kitty was beyond shocking me since I think I've read all her kinky tales. But tossing an animal into the mix, my eyes they burn! I don't ever EVER think my kinky tastes would ever stretch that far. Poor pup. Bad Bad King Niall!

Abigail is innocent in the ways of a King's slave, and despite a little shyness, takes to all the sexual feasts and orgies like a proverbial perverse duck to kinky water. She's soon kneeling at his feet, mouth open willingly for all the delights he wants her to experience and endure. Niall, I thought, was a good character, for the whole, He was a fair King, only new to the Himeros throne, and knew he wanted half gypsy Abigail as his only slave in his harem to bridge the gap between his people and the gypsies. He takes care of Abigail's family, and banishes anyone who even dare question him having her as his own.
But then towards the end, he turned into a jackass of huge proportions making the balance of "like" for him diminish. Once again, Bad King Niall.

Favourite quotes:

His invasion was delicious and decadent
“Not yet, little one. I want you to beg me for it.”
What was happening between them was mild  and probably nothing compared to his dark and perverted appetites,

For all KT fans and fans of hot kinky toy wielding bondage stories, this is a must for your shelves and e-readers. I enjoyed meeting these characters and seeing into their perverse world.

I give The King's Pleasure by Kitty Thomas 3.5 Sparkles out of 5. Spankilicious!

Antebellum - Mini Novella Review

Antebellum is the one place that Lydia can go to feel free. Living in a city she barely knows and working a job she can barely stand has her going every weekend to the Goth club and drooling over the one person she looks forward to seeing, Declan Misari. But Declan is more then he appears, and he’s been looking for a woman to sate his carnal desires for longer than he can remember. It’s going to take the intervention of Lydia’s personal faerie Goth mother to bring her together with the darkest of her hearts desires on one special night…

Inside Masquerade Desire is four paranormal novella's. The one I read was Antebellum written by writing duo Dagmar Avery and Charlotte Steele. It tells the gothy tale of Fae Prince, Declan, who meets his ideal sexual mate in the form of human, Lydia.

As with any novella, you don't get much background on either character, but what you do get is substantial enough to build a story to justify all the erotic content and it doesn't feel like it's just tossed together. I really liked Sorcha, Declan's friend and fairy cupid. She chooses Lydia for his partner for the night after hearing her thoughts and how she desires the man.

Fast forward to them meeting inside the club, and soon there after he's leading her through a palatable orgy feast of people all indulging in their desires. Lydia is pretty much unfazed by this, I get the impression she is a live in the moment, go with the flow, kind of girl, it later explains why she instantly believes when she hears the truth of what exactly Declan is.

For a short novella, Antebellum is packed full of the sexy time. Hot and well written, it's certainly made for those humid summer nights when you want something quick to read and submerge into for an hour. My only query about reading it was the little f/f action we see, but that's just my own preference. As I've said before,I'm all for the man nipples (heh)

I found it fun reading about the Fae Prince and his moon Princess. And all their wild frolickings.

Favourite Quote:
“I feel like Alice in Fuck-me-land,”

I give Antebellum by Dagmar Avery and Charlotte Steele 3 Sparkles out of 5! Steamy read!
